ClipartDay License

Plain English first, formal terms below. Every clipart on this site is covered by the same license, so you never have to check file by file.

You can

  • Use the art in personal and commercial projects
  • Print it — worksheets, flyers, menus, signage, packaging, apparel
  • Use it in digital work — websites, apps, videos, slide decks, social posts
  • Modify it: recolour, crop, combine, redraw
  • Use it in a product you sell, where the art is part of a larger design
  • Use it without crediting ClipartDay

You cannot

  • Redistribute or resell the files as clipart, in a bundle, or on another download site
  • Claim the artwork as your own original creation
  • Register the art, or a minor edit of it, as a trademark or logo
  • Use it in a way that is unlawful, hateful, or that depicts real people or brands as endorsing something
  • Use it as the primary value of a print-on-demand product (for example, the art alone on a blank t-shirt)

Attribution

Attribution is not required. If you would like to credit us anyway, a link to clipartday.com is appreciated and helps other people find the art.

The line between "using" and "reselling"

The distinction that matters is whether the clipart is an ingredient or the product. Putting a pumpkin clipart on a Halloween party invitation you sell is fine — the invitation is your design work and the clipart is one element of it. Uploading that same pumpkin PNG to a stock site, or selling a "500 Halloween Graphics" pack that is mostly our files, is not.

If you are unsure which side of that line your project sits on, ask us. We answer, and the answer is usually yes.

Where the art comes from

Most cliparts on this site are produced in house. A portion are derived from public domain and CC0 source material, redrawn and reworked before publication; where that applies, the original source is noted on the clipart's own page. Either way, the license above is what governs your use of the file you download from us.

Formal terms

ClipartDay grants you a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, modify and display the downloaded files, subject to the restrictions above. This license does not transfer ownership; ClipartDay and its contributors retain copyright in the artwork. The license terminates automatically if you breach the restrictions.

The files are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ClipartDay is not liable for any claim, damages or other liability arising from the files or their use.

We may update these terms. Downloads you have already made stay covered by the terms in force at the time you downloaded them.
